This was my first trip to Southern California since I started architecture school at the University of Oregon
, so naturally, I wanted to catch a glimpse of the buildings there that I've been learning about. It was a trip with my family, none of whom are in the architecture field, so I'm sure they were a bit disgruntled at my enthusiasm of buildings. Nonetheless, I managed to see, in chronological order, Richard Meier's Getty Museum, Louis Kahn's Salk Institute, Morphosis's Diamond Ranch High School, Frank Gehry's Disney Concert Hall (in construction), and Eric Owen Moss's Culver City office block.
This gallery is focused more on the architecture than actual photography. This was before I really got into photography, and was using my parent's old digital point and shoot. Looking through these pictures actually make me cringe at my lack of fundamentals.
